IIA Supports NEDC Competition Where Students Use STEM Skills

In June 2025, the top middle and high-school MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement) teams joined forces to tackle real-world problems. They identified a community with a problem, then used their coding and design skills to develop a unique solution.

To achieve this, students participated in the National Engineering Design Competition (NEDC). These budding engineers and coders gathered from all over the USA in San Diego, California, to test their skills.

As part of our ongoing efforts to foster education and community, Infinity Insurance Agency, Inc. (IIA) donated $2,500 to support MESA’s competition. This funding helped MESA’s mission to engage students in STEM activities, foster community, and encourage future engineers develop their skills.

The winning project, Deacon, included an emergency decontamination device with a mobile app that provides resources, instructions, and community alerts. The 1st place students hailed from Contra Costa College (CCC)’s Middle College High School in San Pablo, California.

IIA proudly continues to serve educational programs across various states. We contribute to various academic initiatives and hope to make an impact in the communities we serve.
