Middle and High School Students Program Robots in IIA-Sponsored Florida FIRST Tech Challenge

As part of Infinity Insurance Agency, Inc. (IIA)’s ongoing efforts to support student development and community, IIA will sponsor the Florida FIRST Tech Challenge in March of 2026.

For this challenge, students who are currently in grades six to twelve work together to design, program, and build working robots. These robots will be tested in game challenges that are newly developed every year.

The students use reusable robot kits and program their robots in a variety of coding languages in order to face the year’s challenge. This project helps students practice applicable STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills that they’ll continue to use in their future education and career endeavors.

To help this initiative, IIA sponsored the Wendy B. Lawrence division of the 2026 Florida Championship event and covered the cost of trophies for the 2025–2026 Florida Championship event. These contributions help the Florida FIRST Tech Challenge expand its reach and support student robotics teams across Florida.

Sponsorships such as these help advance STEM education for young students. Events like the FIRST Tech Challenge continue to foster student innovation, growth, and applicable creative and engineering skills.

We can’t wait to see how the students solve this year’s robotics challenge!
